My Students

Our Middle School is a school filled with diversity and my sixth grade science classes are no different! My students come from diverse language backgrounds and cultures.

Coming to a new middle school, our classroom are beautiful and new, but sometimes lack the resources that more established school have acquired over the years.

Due to the pandemic, students are in and out of the classroom more than ever. This means lessons need to be available in person and online. This has presented an opportunity as a teacher to use new tools and introduce students to new ways of learning. Each of my students deserves a chance to come to school and be given their best opportunity to excel.

My Project

The use of Chromebooks in our middle school classroom is nearly a daily occurrence! While adjusting curriculum to fit the needs of both in-person and online students has been difficult, the use of technology has been a lifeline between what we are doing at school and what is happening at home.

As a teacher, I have found an endless amount of digital resources to help students wherever they are learning, but many required sound.

This includes videos, simulations, and online collaboration platforms. When students are at school, it is difficult to provide them with individualized learning on Chromebooks if they are missing a critical piece, headphones!
