Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are in need of hand shovels, kids gardening gloves, and a couple birdhouses for our school garden.

Taking the kids outside and giving them real-world experiences in the garden helps them make connections and get hands on learning.

While in the garden, they learn about the plant life cycle, different kinds of plants, planting and picking fruits and vegetables, studying bees and their importance, observing birds and other wildlife, and the manual upkeep of the garden itself. They love doing this and getting outside, but we are short on resources for every student.
