This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! Most of them have been at the school since kindergarten, and our school is special because we can really develop a close relationship with each individual student as they grow up.
As a school with a bilingual program, students are immersed in rigorous instruction in both English and Spanish!
There are numerous benefits to being bilingual and students work very hard to access the curriculum despite it being a challenge. We have both Spanish-dominant and English-dominant speakers, which means that 100% of our students are second language learners!
My Project
We work to make our tools and resources as accessible as possible in the classroom. However, sometimes students can't find things or do not know where to place something once they are done. The storage bins and labels will assist me in creating a space where students are able to become more independent and take more ownership over the classroom organization. The labels will assist students in knowing where to put things once they are through.
My students deserve a space where they can have all the tools they need readily available!
These materials will assist them in finding what they need when they need it. The chalkboard will be used to show reading groups and literacy station schedule. It is an easy way to manage since these groups and can change. Students will be able to track their schedule easily.
