Our 6th grade students lead the way at our school. These leaders have various roles in the classroom, as club representatives, and as individuals.
In our math class, they are encouraged to bring in all of these facets of their lives and apply critical thinking to become innovators.
Our goal is to become well versed logical thinkers that can communicate ideas effectively. This requires collaboration, problem solving, and ingenuity. These skills along with each student's individuality create an exciting learning experience!
My Project
In a 6th grade math classroom, there are many problems to solve. One of those problems should not be, "Where are my math tools?" Our students need specific tools to prepare them for real world application of the math skills that are taught in the classroom. These tools range from protractors to simple no.2 pencils, depending on the task at hand.
With the right tools, you can solve any problem.
That is the goal of this project: giving these 6th grade students the proper math tools to solve any problem that this math teacher/or the world gives them.
