This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love learning each and every day. Many of my students stay engaged and learn more from hands-on activities and real experiences. To ensure that all students are enjoying learning, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning opportunities.

They are truly an amazing group of students, and I am thankful to have a great group of learners that are excited and ready to learn.

They would be more than excited to learn with guided math.

My Project

This year, I have been implementing guided math, which focuses on understanding numbers through concrete, semi-concrete, and abstract experiences. In order to be successful, my students need some more materials to work with. During our math block, we have three centers: work with teacher, work with a partner, and technology. During their work with teacher and work with a partner centers, they need many hands-on opportunities to make sense of numbers.

All of these hands-on materials will help students develop a conceptual understanding of math concepts.

These materials will also keep students engaged and excited to learn during their math block time.
