Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom is a place where students’ diverse backgrounds and abilities are celebrated and viewed as an asset to their learning. Our students come from beautifully diverse backgrounds and include English language learners and students with disabilities.
Our students bring so much joy and energy to their learning.
Our families are incredibly hard-working and dedicated to their children's education. As a school community, we strive to provide our students and families with every experience and opportunity to empower them to realize their full potential.
We strive everyday to provide the highest quality learning experiences to engage our students and build a lifelong love of learning. We are so grateful for your support for this mission.
My Project
We are requesting iPads, sensory integration tools and some new books to better serve the needs of all our students.
We serve students with a wide variety of learning needs and we will use all of these tools to help us create a learning environment where all of our students can feel successful.
The iPads will impact student learning because they will enable us to use apps and programs that provide targeted, differentiated instruction for our students who are at varying levels in their literacy and math development. They also enable us to provide access to technology and build twenty-first century skills.
The sensory integration tools will impact student learning by creating a learning environment that is barrier free for students who experience the world in different ways and who benefit from support to minimize distractions and help with self-regulation.
The new books are all high quality, research based, leveled texts that will supplement our growing classroom library and enable us to provide instruction to help our students grow as readers. First grade is a year of so much growth in students' reading abilities and these books will support that growth.
