Tools for Change: Supporting History Projects in the Classroom

Help me give my students visual representations of concepts and timelines that are difficult to understand, a map to situate lessons, as well as some motivational posters that feature quotes from important people of color in history.

My Project

As a first-year teacher, I'm working to outfit my classroom with the right tools to inspire my students. I’m looking for unique posters, clear maps, and timelines to make history come alive. I also want to display motivational quotes from historical figures whose voices aren't typically amplified. To engage my students in hands-on learning, I need a good supply of markers and colored pencils for historical poster projects that will support project-based learning. I have 120 students, each with incredible potential, despite many coming from tough situations. With the right resources, I believe I can inspire them to explore and appreciate American History.
