My Students
Our school is a place where students and teachers love to learn and grow! We have a diverse school community with a high number of first-generation English language learners. My students are excited for a challenge, curious about the world, and eager to learn. After a whole year of remote learning, we are all relieved to be learning at school together again. We've had some bumps in the road, but my students are making huge progress in their social, emotional, and academic learning.
Our continued progress in social, emotional, and academic learning could really use a boost with some special materials.
Our school has a tremendously strong sense of community, which is a strength we're blessed to have. Teachers and staff feel the true urgency to get our students up to grade level in Reading, Writing, and Math and it has paid off!
My Project
During last year's virtual learning, many of my students missed learning the habits that help build fine and gross motor skills used during Writing, Reading, and Math. The tools I'm requesting are those which will help them build strong work habits in order to become more independent, grow learning endurance, and therefore become more confident.
The slant boards will assist with students' body position during writing, the notepads will help note-taking while reading and editing during writing, and the thin Expos will allow students to show more detail on dry-erase boards.
