My Project

2 Train Robotics - Morris Campus Robotics is a Bronx based team that has been around for 24 years!

Our team had to start from zero last year with very few tools and limited space.

Our team is a diverse and motivated team, but we lack the necessary tools, materials and fuel needed to be sustainable.

In our robotics team, we participate in two competitions: First Tech Challenge and First Robotics Competition. We have multiple students working with mechanical parts and machining their own using hand tools. Currently, they are using low or mid quality tools I have purchased from discount stores and have just enough to participate but not enough for more than one student to work on the robot at the time. After a year of competition, we break bits, lose an allen key or strip a socket.

During competition our FRC (first robotics competition) robot weighs 80-120 pounds and we need to bring large amounts of tools, parts to be able to fix the robot during competition. This includes a rolling cart to move the robot itself, large batteries, and computer (all needed in competition). During both meeting and competitions, we usually work with the students for long hours without more than school snacks. Having snacks will fill these future engineers while they build robots for one full season!
