My Project

Even years after the covid-19 pandemic, the impact is still affecting my students, their learning, and engagement in the classroom. These are some resources that I will need to help impact students in a positive way.

First, I will need printer ink and card stock to print out projects for students to complete.

Many of my students have not developed skills on how to research and complete projects. Second, the cutting board will allow me to cut out different resources that the students need quickly and precisely. Due to time restraints and catching up academically, the students don't always have a lot of time to cut things out. Third, having dry erase markers will allow me to write important things we are learning on the white board for the students to see and comprehend. Students can also use the markers to solve problems and explain their thinking to their partner or class on their own whiteboards.

Fourth, having a portable speaker system will allow students to listen to music during morning run club (a program our school set up after the pandemic to get students to have more outside movement in their lives). The speaker can also be used to motivate students as they run and walk around the campus.

The speaker can also be used during PE to motivate students while they are engaged in movement. Finally, due to the pandemic, many of these students fell behind on reading and literacy. I will use the classroom book set of the series Wayside School to promote reading and literacy through oral read aloud. Not only does this book help to cover third grade standards, but it's also engaging and makes students laugh and giggle with its humor (something these students can benefit from emotionally).
