it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all English Language Learners in Bronx, NY. They are enthusiastic learners and love reading! Many of my students are new to the country, from Bangladesh, Mexico, Albania, or the Dominican Republic, and others have lived in New York their whole lives.
They love reading about sports, animals, music and arts, as well as stories about kids their own age.
They love doing research projects, drawing, writing, and participating in anything hands-on!

My Project
Help me provide my students with reading and writing toolkits. I teach students the skills, tricks, and strategies to be better readers and writers. Every year I put together kits with highlighters, post-its, and most importantly- reminders of the charts, sound and word lists that we use in our lessons. The goal is for students to use their toolkits independently while reading and writing.
These kits are completely custom made so I need the folders, sheets protectors and ink to make them happen.
