This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are hardworking, young people most of whom come from lower-middle-class households. Each and every day I can't help but marvel at their effort and drive to succeed. These kids come early and stay late multiple days a week for tutoring, clubs, sports, and other extracurricular activities. More than anything else, my students are funny, loving, respectful, appreciative, responsible, and kind.

I want my students to develop a lifelong interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and bringing current technology into the classroom would help make that a reality.

My students attend an urban middle school and currently do not have sufficient access to 21st-century technology in the classroom. It would greatly increase interest in science, technology, engineering, and math if my students had better access to STEM learning activities. I hope that DonorsChoose will help me fulfill my dream of outfitting our maker space/robotics lab where students can imagine and design.

STEM Squad Robotics (our school robotics team) aims to give students an opportunity to learn 21st-century skills and tackle 21st-century problems.

I have written this to help my students organize and store their robot gear. Daily, we struggle with lost components and waste when parts go missing. Through this project, every team will have access to storage options that will help them stay organized, allowing them to spend more time focusing on their science, technology, engineering, math, and coding goals. With this new tool storage/management, everyone will be better positioned for success!
