Too Many Students, Not Enough Computers!

Help me give my students four computers and a flash drive to help them get a chance to complete their assignments on a daily basis; student-to-computer ratio is overwhelming!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students experience difficulties, both academically and socially. Their problems relate to their home situations, financial instability, poor parental involvement and lack of motivation. This transfers negatively to their learning.

As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district with close to 100% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch and about 20% living in one of the four shelters around our school, I would like my students to experience learning in an enjoyable environment.

I want to provide activities where they will be engaged and thrilled and get the chance to change their negative feelings about learning into positive ones. My students need to believe in themselves. They need to know that they can be creative thinkers and assets to the community.

My Project

My students need four computers to assist with the student-to-computer ratio. Also, they need a flash drive to save their work. The number of students in my ESE, ESOL classroom keeps increasing and this is affecting the time each student gets to use the computer on a daily basis. Having four more computers would really help my students when it comes to their computer time.

The computers would be most beneficial since students are expected to have a certain amount of daily computer time.

These extra computers would allow ALL my students to maintain their computer use.

I want my students to have the necessary resources and equipment to make their learning and daily required activities meaningful and fun. Your help in getting these computers would allow all my students to maintain their daily computer use. They will also be able to use the flash drive so they can save their work to print later. It is really challenging during Differentiated Instruction not having enough computers for small group instruction. With these computers, my students would not have to share time and might even get to explore other programs. Please help us get our technology issues on track and help my students keep up with the rest of the world.
