Too Hot to Handle: Air Conditioner Needed

My students need a portable AC for our stifling classroom so they can focus on learning.

My Students

My students are brave. My scholars are curious. My "chingonas" are independent and strong. And we are all way too hot.

My students choose to attend our public all girls school.

We are under resourced, and things aren't always easy- but they stay at this school for the relationships they build. Our school has a diverse population, of African American students, Bengali students, and Hispanic students. My ladies are open, dedicated, unique, and their smiles are my favorite thing.

My Project

We will use a portable air conditioner to keep the classroom at a comfortable temperature. My classroom has no windows and a broken heating/cooling component. This means that our room is so hot and stuffy, students often cannot focus on their learning. I have two students who have consistently complained that the heat makes them dizzy, and several more who have difficulties keeping their head up.

Having a portable air conditioning unit would not only allow our students to survive in the first and last months of the school year.

It will encourage them to thrive! Without the heat, energy levels and focus of the classes will increase.
