My Students
My students are inquisitive, fun-loving, respectful, kind, and responsible children. They love to learn and to show what they know. They are active participants in their education. They live up to the high expectations I set for showing their personal best.
My students collaborate with their peers; they work together to do great things.
They truly love to learn and to share their knowledge with others. They make learning and teaching fun! They go above and beyond every single day. They deserve every opportunity I can provide for them.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of books to add to our classroom library. They have a common theme; they are all teaching about tolerance. I teach in a community that I would not consider diverse. I think that this makes the conversation about diversity, empathy, and tolerance even more important. The area, like the country, is evolving all the time.
The school population is changing and we are just beginning to see a more diverse student body.
I want my kids to be ready to welcome our new students. I want them to learn that we are all more alike than different. I want them to have the capacity to understand and empathize with children from different backgrounds, needs, and cultures. I want my kids to learn from the requested books. I hope that students can relate to the experiences of the characters and know that they are not alone in the world.
