This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Going into my second year as a special education teacher, I noticed how important it is to demonstrate positive behavior strategies. My goals for this project are to allow my students to recognize how to improve independently and strive to earn incentives.
A token economy benefits students by providing immediate and tangible reinforcement for positive behaviors, which can increase motivation and consistency in meeting academic and behavioral goals.
It also helps students develop self-regulation and responsibility as they learn to work towards rewards through their actions.
Other materials in this project will support the learning environment my students and I aim to achieve. A calming environment in the classroom reduces stress and anxiety, allowing students to focus better and absorb information more effectively. It also fosters a sense of safety and well-being, which enhances learning and encourages positive social interactions.
