My Project

In our kindergarten program, group games that include diverse and inclusive, physical fitness activities serve as a dynamic platform for children to build cooperation and teamwork skills, while also supporting language development for our many English language learners.

Through engaging, cooperative activities like Connect 4 and Ladder Ball, kindergarteners will practice essential social skills - communication, sharing, and problem solving - in a low stress, highly fun and engaging manner that increases their physical wellness and movement.

Foam blocks and jump ropes add an extra layer of team building as the kids need to work together to have the best experiences all while having them engage in physical fitness.

As they play, they'll learn to express themselves and follow instructions in English, using vocabulary related to the games. Group discussions about strategies, taking turns, and cheering each other on will create rich opportunities for language practice in a supportive environment. This interactive, physical play will not only strengthen their friendships and teamwork skills but also boost their confidence and fluency in English, making learning both fun and effective!

Being an equity-focused school, we are committed to ensuring that every child has access to the same enriching experiences, regardless of their background. By implementing these types of inclusive, physical activities we are creating opportunities for all students to engage, learn, and grow together!
