My Students

This year my classroom is an Early Childhood Special Education room in North Dakota. The teachers at our school are an amazing, caring, and fun group that really care about educating young minds. I am proud to be on their team. I know it is going to be a fun adventure everyday at our school.

The children in my class are sweet, kind, and caring.

They are really excited about coming to school and I want to encourage them to do their very best. My students know that we are a team and we all pitch in and help each other.

My Project

To develop those early math skills and be Kindergarten ready, my students need math manipulatives to develop skills in counting, comparing, sorting, patterning, geometry, addition, subtraction and money skills. We are starting to talk about the importance of money. The play money will be used in our home living area where the children have set up a farm store. They have a cash register and lots of items that you would find on the farm for sale. Throughout the rest of the year, there will be many different opportunities for children to practice counting and saving play money. The beginning money puzzles will be great to teach children a basic knowledge in counting money.
