My Students

This year my classroom is an Early Childhood Special Education room in North Dakota. The teachers at our school are an amazing, caring, and fun group that really care about educating young minds. I am proud to be on their team. I know it is going to be a fun adventure everyday at our school.

The children in my class are sweet, kind, and caring.

They are really excited about coming to school and I want to encourage them to do their very best. My students know that we are a team and we all pitch in and help each other.

My Project

My autistic students are very bright, sweet and kind children. However, they struggle in the area of social/emotional development, math and literacy. This project is filled with great tools for them to learn letters, numbers, and emotions.

Not only will my special needs children benefit from these resources, but all the children in the classroom will, as well.

For example, the playdoh ABC stampers will be a great addition for our center. The children can stamp out our everyday words, their name or just practice their letters. The ABC dot journals will be a great and fun way to check to see what children know. The dabbers and journals will be in the writing center readily available for children to learn with. The bug scoop looks so much fun and will teach children those fine motor skills and beginning sorting skills. The pattern cards and beads will be another great fine motor activity and will teach the children basic patterning skills. The number sequencing puzzles will help children sequence and learn their numbers 0-20. My students all struggle in this area. The mood and emotions mirrors will be a great teaching tool for my students. Also, the float alphabet will provide a fun sensory activity for the children to learn their alphabet. Finally, the color ring board will be a great way for my autistic students to learn their colors, as well as use their fine motor skills.
