This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My English language learners are curious, active, and eager to learn. The multicultural background they share in the classroom has connected our learning community in a sense that we all are together in one world.
Our culturally diverse students are committed to work hard to promote and support each other to build good character, become good citizen, and achieve academic goal.
Regardless of what other languages they speak, caring and kindness are what we all have in common and bring into our classroom.
My Project
This special area rug will be used for everyday gathering when my English Language Learners come to their ESL classroom. The image of children from all over the world holding hands represents the world unity as we come from the different continents to gather and learn in this one classroom.
In addition, this floor carpet will provide flexible and extra learning space for my students.
They will have optional seating choice other than traditional classroom chairs during their independent practice and reading. As I have seen in my colleague's classrooms, giving students choice of seating is one way to let them learn how to take charge of their own learning. It always effects them in a positive way.
