This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In our South Georgia middle school, we are blessed to educate our society's future inventors, scientists, nurses, humanitarians, doctors, and leaders of the world. Our future leaders come from diverse backgrounds, but when they come together, they form a family that creates a cooperative learning community that is committed to excellence and success in all they do.
Even through their differences, our future leaders share a deep commitment to leading, challenging, and motivating each other to succeed in all of their goals.
This project will afford our 6th-8th grade basketball student-athletes the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and inviting environment that caters to their athletic, academic, and behavioral needs.
My Project
The family, leadership, and resilience shown by our student-athletes this year have been nothing but amazing. As a middle school boys basketball team, we have conquered the “new normal“ of the global pandemic by ensuring the health and safety of all stakeholders by following local and state protocols, and by showing our gratitude towards the success of our student-athletes on and off of the basketball court.
Creating a team atmosphere that is inviting for student-athletes to learn and grow from their peers to create a competitive and cohesive team culture is key in determining our team's success.
By affording our student-athletes the necessary resources to grow as a team, our student-athletes will be prepared to compete at their highest potential.
