This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach first grade to many enthusiastic learners. My students attend a low income school where resources are limited.
My students love to hear and know all of the news happening in the world. They enjoy reading the few magazines found in our classroom library. Many of them do not have television or computers in their homes so a subscription to Time For Kids would open a whole world of opportunity for them. Unfortunately neither my school nor myself am able to use resources to provide for this.
If there were donors who were willing to donate money for my students, you would be opening up a whole new door for them to learn more about the world around them. You would also be providing them with real-life experiences to read about.
You will make it possible for my students to learn and experience more of the world around them. They will be able to take their magazine home to share with their families.
