My Project
I work as a Librarian at a high school in central Massachusetts. It is a very culturally diverse but economically challenged neighborhood. Many of my students cannot access public libraries; their school library is their connection to resources outside of their neighborhood.
The importance of a strong library and literacy program in a public high school cannot be overstated.
Students respond to updated titles, new content and books that reflect what they see happening in our community, our country and our world. Each time a student accesses the school library, they are more likely to come back seeking support for other reasons. The resources provided by generous donors like you allow us to help our students not only in school, but in life.
