This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year I've been given the opportunity to work with upper (5th and 6) grade students! I'm excited yet nervous, since I've only taught lower (TK-2nd) grade students for the past 4 years. Needing to move classrooms, I've come to realize that all my previous books and games are not appropriate for my new group of students.
My goal for this year is to challenge my students, in a fun and positive way.
I want my students to continue improving in areas such as their reading rate and comprehension by reading fun and engaging chapter books. I also want my students to continue improving in other areas, such as their communication skills and collaboration skills. I believe this would be possible with your help of the game Blokus.
Being a Special Education Teacher, I'm excited to announce that I will be working with the students that I previously taught my first year of teaching, which is what I've been looking forward to the most in this upcoming school year.
