Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is my second year as the school librarian in our elementary school. I now know the students in our school and I know that they are voracious learners who love to read! I have even renamed our library The Genius Center.
Most of the books in the library are outdated, worn out, and do not represent our student population, so I am trying to rebuild the book collection with new books.
I also now know what types of books our students are interested in reading, and which books teachers need to have available as resources to borrow from the library.
I can't wait to share these new books with students and see their faces light up with excitement. One can never have or read enough books!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
