My Students
We are a Title 1 school district in a large school of over 1,000. Our school houses grades K-8. My 4th grade students are new to me, but all 19 of them are eager to learn and have fun! Some have a love for reading, while others are hands on and love to create.
While we get to know each other, I would love for my students to have access to necessities and be introduced to different ways of learning.
My Project
My students are new to me, as I am coming into the classroom in the middle of the year. However, I immediately recognized the need for an up to date library. Graphic novels are one of the most enticing kinds of books for our grade! Not only do graphic novels offer great storylines that keep our younger readers interested, but the illustrations keep our students wanting more. My class is made up of many different levels of reading and comprehension, but graphic novels offer intrigue to all different reading levels through fun storylines and detailed illustration!
