My Students
I am a 4th year kindergarten teacher! Teaching is my passion and working with the littlest learners is what I have always felt called to do. My classroom is always full of energy and innovation. I go to work daily with the hope I can give each and every one of my students a loving, safe environment to learn!
I teach kindergarten at a Title I school in Texas, where we are still recovering for the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.
Most of the students in my district lived through a rough time in their short lives due to the Hurricane in 2017 and are now faced with the uncertainty of the global pandemic, Covid19. However, these students are resilient and eager to learn. Many of these children are unfortunately lacking basic necessities, but they show up every morning trying their best to smile. My students are survivors and they deserve the best!
My Project
I have always been a reader & I try every year to instill the love of reading into the young minds of the students I teach. I believe reading to a child is one of the most important things you can do to further their education.
"Reading a book is like dreaming with your eyes open!" I have always loved that quote.
I think reading stories helps build a child's imagination. That is why I have created this project to help fund a wonderful classroom library full of picture books I can read to my students year after year!
