My Students
Loving, caring, passionate about learning...these are just a few words that describe my amazing third graders. These children have a passion for life and a love for the world they live in. They are always first to lend a hand or encourage a classmate.
Although my students face many hardships outside of school, they love learning.
At school, our class is like a family and throughout the year we get the chance to learn and grow from one another.
Many of my students come in each year far below grade level in reading and math. As their teacher, I want to make sure they have access to the best resources possible that can help them achieve their goals and feel like empowered learners.
My Project
These resources from Lakeshore Learning will give my students another way to build their reading comprehension. Today, many students are great word callers, but struggle to make meaning of a text whether it is fiction or nonfiction. This is a skill that takes a lot of practice.
These daily books are awesome because they provide students the opportunity to look at one text for the week and complete a daily activity to build comprehension.
The texts in the book are short, engaging, and relevant to my students.
The daily activities are well thought out and there are different tasks for each day, targeting a different skill. There are multiple choice, fill in the blank, and short answer questions, so that students get practice answering a variety of question types.
