My students come from all over the world for a better life in the United States. They often feel overwhelmed while acclimating to a new culture, a new language, and a new life. Learning a new language is hard work, and it's even harder when students do not have proper access to books that they can read and understand.
Many students in upper elementary grades feel left out because they are not reading at the same level as their peers.
Having these books will help students move their reading levels and become stronger in the areas of reading and writing.
My Project
This leveled library will change my students' lives in many ways. It will give them a chance to become in charge of their education by growing their reading levels, comprehension, and English language vocabulary.
The books will ignite a love of reading in my students' hearts, and help them become life-long learners.
Research shows that students' who are reading on grade level eventually have more opportunities and access to better colleges, and lifelong careers. Help me give my students the opportunities that they came to the United States in order to get! Help me turn my readers into future leaders!
