Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some of my students try hard to finish homework before leaving school because there is no desk or a quiet space for them to do homework at home.
My students are awesome kids full of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
75% of them fall in the low income household category according to governmental guidelines. Regardless of their home situations, my students come to school every day with lots of energy and a big smile on their face.
My Project
What I would like to provide for my students are more reading books in the classroom library. Margaret Fuller said, "Today a reader, Tomorrow a leader." The wide range of books in the classroom would help students further develop their reading skills. With good reading skills, students would be able to access information to build their knowledge. With knowledge, they would be able to improve their home situation and community one day.
As educators, we are raising future leaders.
Providing an interesting and abundant library of books would be a great place for students to become better readers, independent learners and thinkers. We need leaders who are prolific readers!
