Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are awesome! Our students are hard workers who have ambition and dreams of success for their future. Most of our students' primary language is not English and about ninety-nine percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch. We work hard to create a welcoming, creative and loving environment for our students. Literacy is at the heart of our operation and there is nothing more exciting then when students receive new books and supplies! Thank you for your help and contributions!
My Project
My students are explorers but need hook books to spark their curiosity about scientific discovery and findings. These comic books have been a big hit but we have only been able to supply two texts. My students pour over the pictures, stories, and methods behind the scientific phenomenon described.
Comic books teach students about heroes and fighting for what is right and science gives students different fields and ways to explore real live heroes from today and long ago.
The material is student friendly and they can use what they learn in these books to find new books about a topic they like or learn about a scientist that they can look up to!
