My Students

The population my school serves is mostly minority students comprised of 70% Black Non-Hispanic (a vast majority of these are of Haitian-Creole descent), 22% Hispanic, 5% White Non-Hispanic, and 3% Asian/Indian/Multiracial.

The school as a whole is classified as a Title I school, which is a school with a high percentage of children from low-income families, to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.

We are designated as a STEM school and the students I personally teach are represented in our STEM-based magnet program.

My Project

Over the years our equipment and uniforms have become outdated and worn out. All the while we have continued to offer sports at our school.

We are looking to expand our sports program by offering more opportunities for our girls to participate.

We mainly need equipment and uniforms for our track and soccer teams.

We plan to use the shin guards and soccer socks for both our boys and girls teams. We need the running shirts, discus and shot put for our girls and boys track teams. We need the mouth guards for our girls flag football team. The benches and cart will be used for all of our teams.
