Help me give my students new equipment and furniture for our beloved science lab!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Tai's classroom raised $772

My Students
My students are hardworking 8th graders, and they come to class every day eager to learn and create. They go to a Title I school and many students are on a free and reduced-price lunch. They live in neighborhoods where housing has become ridiculously expensive, leading to families being priced out of their homes. This has caused a sharp decline in enrollment in the past few years.
Regardless, I hope to make my students' science education fun, challenging, and engaging.
They will design, draw, and build models. They will make many mistakes; and they will finally learn and grow from these experiences. We will learn the art of continuously improving through our mistakes, and have lots of fun and laughs along the way.
My Project
Our school's science lab was built in 1953 and has been an extraordinary resource to all alumni, teachers, and students alike. It has provided a space for hands-on activities and exploration to thousands of students who have come and gone over its lifetime.
While the ingenuity of the science staff continues to spark inspiration in the students, the lab room itself requires an updated version on its existing fixtures and equipment to keep it safe, relevant, and efficient for future generations of science students.
New dissection kits will allow students to investigate the bone and muscle anatomy of chicken feet, the structure of cow hearts and eyes, and to explore the role of reproduction in flowers. These specimens along with other lab materials will be stored in our new efficient refrigerator which will allow a more expeditious use of lab time among the 3 different grade levels. The durable steel carts will provide easy transport of supplies between classrooms and labs, allowing all students to participate in lab activities. These upgraded tools and fixtures will create a safe, orderly, and exciting environment for the students to engage in science throughout the upcoming school years.
