Help me give my students Chromebooks that will allow them to access online reading programs that will enhance their learning experience as well as books that will lead them into a world with a love of reading!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Our students deserve the opportunity to read and understand books that will take them to any place they want to go.
Reading should be an escape, and I am trying to promote a love for reading in our students through literature circles and computer programming that will enhance their reading abilities to take them through life.
My students have diverse talents and capabilities, and it is vital that I equip them with the materials to exceed their highest expectations. Having books of interest will bring the love for reading back into our classrooms, especially with the lack of resources some of my students have at home. Computers will help my students build on basic reading skills they lack so they can actually enjoy the reading material!
My Project
These books and computers will continue to enhance the literacy classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a sacred place that my students enjoy. They go into the library to read independently, to work on independent work, and to build a love for books. I have striven to build a library that will bring back joy of reading, not just a forced subject. Students will be able to interact with these books together and really become "book talkers." The computers will be an intervention that students can access online material, as well as test their comprehension and ready fluency to become better independent readers all together.
With these new books and computers, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My kiddos have already shown a growth in reading this year, and I do not want it to stop there. I want them to continue to love to read so they can access anything in the world through literate minds.
