My students need a classroom printer that can be used for digital art printing. This printer will save me quite a lot of trips to Fed Ex and Kinkos.

My Students
I am the school art teacher a small, neighborhood school in Richmond, Virginia. We have a diverse group of learners at our school, but they are all eager to learn more and explore different possibilities with art. The students come from high-poverty, urban homes. Many of their families struggle financially, so often the students are burdened with problems beyond their years. It is my hope to provide the students a safe place where they are able to not only learn and develop their creativity, but also provide a sometimes much needed escape from the day to day.
My Project
Throughout the school year, I try to incorporate personal photographs of each student from each grade level into various works of art. Seeing their own faces printed out, and used in their own artwork is something all students love to see displayed in their school hallways. Projects such as these, with printed pictures are always a favorite. I have to make numerous runs to Kinkos to print these pictures using my own time and resources. This often delays the artistic process,as well as being expensive. Having the printer right in the classroom would be much more efficient for us all.
