My Students

I am very proud of all the success and accomplishments that my students have had this school year! They started the year as non readers and by mid-year 70% of them became fluent readers and writers.

Coming to school everyday on time to learn is not an easy task for some of my students, but regardless of their family situation, they are coming to school everyday eager to learn and have new experiences.

Be respectful, Be responsible, and Be safe are behaviors that we practice everyday in order to prepare and in the future become responsible and productive citizens in our society.

Sadly, our school does not have the budget or resources necessary to provide my students with more educational experiences in the classroom. Our school is a Title 1 school. We have 100% free lunch participation. Our computer lab. needs to be updated and serviced. We don't have functional printers. The one that all teachers share is only black and white because the school can not afford color ink.

Our classroom PE equipment is very limited. If a sock ball or kickball goes flat it is hard to replace.

Despite of these, we are happily learning!

My Project

My class and school in general, are in dying need of a fully functioning printer. Believe it or not, we have over 16 classrooms and we all share 2 black and white printers! Yes! The whole school shares 2 printers!

If we could get some color ink and printers, our students could print and publish their stories, letters, and other writing assignments.

It is hard to believe that a public school does not have the funds to acquire printers and ink, but that is the reality here at our school. Our students and teachers deserve a good functional color printer. Please help us!
