My Students

I teach a group of 8-9-year-olds, who are intellectual, adventurous, and love to read! Every day, we tackle new skills and obstacles to not only become better learners but better people.

Every day, they continue to amaze me with their drive and passion for learning.

It's not very often that people can say they are inspired by their peers. However, this group of kiddos inspires perseverance, grit, and optimism to me daily. They will be the first to put a smile on my face just by simply saying hello!

My Project

Third grade is such a wonderful year for the sole purpose of seeing young minds transform. One of the biggest transformations I love seeing is the transition from picture to chapter books. Often enough, we spend our time talking about books we love, why we love them, etc. Throughout the year, they have been working hard to transition from learning to read to reading to learn.

This is such a great adventure to be on with them because I am in the beginning stages of fostering that love of reading!

By offering a variety of books, authors, and series, kids fall in love with reading rather than dread it.
