Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a rural Utah town. Our moderate poverty elementary school has many students who are receiving free or reduced-price lunch. Despite their circumstances, my students are hardworking, dedicated, and eager to learn. They deserve the same experiences, equipment, and tools, including technology, that other more affluent elementary schools offer.

My students and I are grateful for any materials donated to our classroom that can enhance the learning experience.

School is a great place to learn and have fun!

My Project

With these materials, my students are now able to reach the planets and stars! Hands-on learning is key when teaching, especially science.

My students will now be able to see and manipulate the solar system and earth, moon, and science system with their own hands.

After studying the Solar System, students will examine and then build their own model of the Solar System. This will show their understanding of not only where the planets are in our solar system, but also how the planets move in relation to each other and to the sun. Along with this project, students will be doing an in-depth study of one planet to share with their peers.
