My Students

We are a Title I school in one of the poorest counties in Oklahoma, but we are not lacking in spirit and dedication. My kindergarten students come ready to learn and are little sponges.

Technology can help satisfy and enhance their learning and take it to the next level, but we lack Chromebooks to accomplish our learning goals.

Many of these students do not have access to internet at home let alone access to basic necessities. School is a place for them to explore and having Chromebooks allows students to research and explore independently during learning stations.

My Project

Chromebooks are a great first tool for kindergartners to learn how to use a computer for more than just play. They learn how to actually use it to further and enhance their learning by using programs to read books, watch videos about topics they are interested in, and explore beyond what they currently know.

Many children in our area do not have access to the Internet or technology such as laptops which can help increase their learning or encourage their sense of wonder.

School is a place that can provide opportunities on how to use tools like Chromebooks for learning. Many do not even know how to use a mouse to navigate and the headphones help keep the classroom noise level down.
