This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever had to read something, not by your choice? It's not fun at all. It's very exciting to choose what you want to read. My 2nd grader's love reading. This AR library would build our classroom collection while offering students a wider range of books from which to choose from.

At this point in time, we are in the middle of our second second semester and my second graders are growing academically and socially.

Our school is a PreK-5th grade Title I school with an enrollment of approximately 680 students. My 22 second graders have reading abilities which are just as varied as each of their beautiful personalities. They love to read and love sharing what they read with each other as well as with me and our service dog puppy in training.

My Project

You have to admit, struggling to read a book makes it hard for you to enjoy. When children try to read and are at their frustration level, books are not fun. An AR classroom library will give my students the opportunity to select books at their personal AR level in which they will be successful. Because of the limited amount of books in our AR classroom AR library right now, my students are facing a boring AR time. With this addition of books and bookshelf added to our small classroom AR library, we will be well on our way to building classroom a library in which students have a wide selection to choose from for the entire year.

As my students take their AR tests and are successful, I can see happiness exploding from their smiles, which makes them want to read more.

But their eyes can't light up without help for wonderful donors like you who help to provide books to our classroom of deserving students.
