My Students

My students attend a public school in an urban area. They come from many different backgrounds, and each offers a unique piece to our classroom. They learn from one another every day and appreciate what makes each member of the class unique. They are excited TK students who can't wait to discover more out in the world! With support this year, they will grow to be more independent and will become more confident and excited about learning in their community.

My Project

After 10 years of teaching, I'm changing grade levels to TK. It would be fantastic to add some picture books and building toys to my new classroom environment. This will be the first year of TK at my school after not having it for several years. Students will come in excited to learn and grow in their new school and I can't wait to be part of the journey. I want to help them build a life long love for reading with colorful, new titles. A love of reading starts with books that have relatable, interesting characters. Building toys will provide the bridge for kids to work together on a task, and along the way, learn problem solving and communication skills.
