This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My transitional kindergarten class consists of the younger kindergarten students.
Our school is located in a low economic area.
One hundred percent of the students are Title I and qualify for the free federal breakfast and lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow every day. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations.
My Project
My students need materials such as dolls, books, puzzles, and doll house furniture to make their learning experience as rich as possible. They also need manipulatives such as listening centers and concept games that will help them develop their language and concept skills.
As a transitional kindergarten teacher, I feel I have to provide my young students with a rich learning environment that will motivate their learning.
This is their first year in school and they are extremely eager to learn. I want to create a passion for school that will continue with them through their academic career. Please help me support this project that will provide my students with the essentials needed to run a fun and successful school year.
