My Students
My students attend a public school in an urban area. They come from many different backgrounds, and each offers a unique piece to our classroom. They learn from one another every day and appreciate what makes each member of the class unique. They are excited TK students who can't wait to discover more out in the world! With support this year, they will grow to be more independent and will become more confident and excited about learning in their community.
My Project
Next year, transitional kindergarten students will arrive to a new school year. For many of them, this will be their first experience in a larger school. As the youngest learners at the school, we want them to have a spectacular experience where they can develop a love for learning. Play based learning is so important for young kids. An interactive science area with magnifying glasses, rocks and minerals, insects replicas and more will kick start their ability to learn through inquiry. Math manipulatives and number visuals will help kids learn how to make patterns, and understand the value of small numbers. Pockets charts will help create an organized classroom where students can access visuals and language on every wall. All of these materials will provide opportunities for kids to work together, practice their language skills and build peer relationships.
