This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Title 1 students, who come from low-income families, often face barriers to academic success due to a lack of essential school supplies and books. Many families struggle to afford basic materials such as notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and textbooks, which are crucial for learning. This is why I added the basics supplies which are pencils, erasers, and dry eraser markers. My goal is to provide students with these supplies throughout the year so students don't feel the burden of being without.

Literacy is the foundation of academic success, and access to books is essential for developing strong reading and comprehension skills.

In Title 1 classrooms, where students come from low-income backgrounds, many lack books at home and early literacy support, putting them at a disadvantage.

Books help students build vocabulary, critical thinking, and language skills, which are necessary for success across all subjects, including math, science, and social studies. Reading proficiency is directly linked to graduation rates and future opportunities, making early intervention crucial.
