Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach language arts and social studies to the entirety of the fifth grade at my school. My kids are split between three class periods and a home room. At any given time my classroom has 22 lively and lovable kids, each with their own unique personality and skills. Some of my fifth graders are above the fifth grade curriculum while others are still building their fifth grade skills, but all of them come to school excited to learn.

No matter what is going on at home or what skills they currently have, my students are energetic and eager to learn and be together as a group.

All of my students love school and strive to do their best each day. They all care about one another and our classroom family and work together to help one another become successful. What I love most about my students is the different strengths they all bring to our classroom. I am very proud of how hard they have been working and their perseverance as they handle the changes this school year has brought.

My Project

These materials will be very beneficial for my classroom! My kids and I are doing everything we can to stop the spread of COVID and other germs in order to stay in school as much as possible. We know that in school students learn best and we need to do what we can to ensure that our best learning is happening more than ever!

Hand sanitizer, soap, and tissues among other items will help in this effort.

In addition, the books chosen will help encourage community and respect amongst peers, some of whom have not been in person for over eighteen months!
