This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are Honors and Advanced Placement students who are extremely hard-working and absolutely love science. They are curious about the impact of science on day to day life and using the concepts we have learned in the classroom to understand the impact we have on our environment.

When truly inspired by something, they tenaciously pursue knowledge related to it.

I have students who are very much natural born leaders. They amaze me every day with their enthusiasm for science and love of chemistry.

My Project

The tissues, hand sanitizer and hand soap will be available to students throughout the day and will help us to minimize the spread of the common cold and the flu. The less a student is absent due to illness, the more successful they can be.

One of the biggest challenges students face in the winter months is missing school due to illness.

When a student is out sick for several days it becomes quite difficult for them to catch up on assignments for their six or seven academic classes. Often times grades and more importantly, learning is negatively impacted by illnesses that are absolutely preventable with good hygiene practices.
