Tiny Tools for Big Emotions: Supporting Pre-kindergarten Students' Mental Wellness
Help me give my students a variety of social-emotional toys to help them learn about mental health, encouraging self-awareness, emotional expression, empathy, and problem-solving. These toys support children in understanding and managing their emotions in an age-appropriate way.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my pre-kindergarten classroom, we do more than just learn letters and numbers, we learn how to be kind, how to express ourselves, and how to navigate the big emotions that come with being little. My goal for this project is to give my students access to tools that support their social and emotional development, a foundational part of their learning and lifelong success. We need tools like emotion blocks, puzzles, emotion plush, and more.
Young children often feel emotions they don't yet have words for.
With your support, I will introduce a variety of social-emotional learning resources in a gentle, age-appropriate way. These materials will help children recognize, label, and express their emotions, build empathy for others, and develop healthy ways to cope with frustration, sadness, or anxiety.
Prekindergarten is often a child's first experience being in a structured setting away from home. many of my students come from diverse backgrounds and face challenges b beyond their years. By introducing SEL tools early, I can help them feel safe, supported, and understood, creating a classroom environment where they are ready to learn, grow, and connect with others.
