This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Tiny Tigers come to school while facing many life challenges. In order for them to feel safe, valued, and heard, we want to provide them with resources to help them express all of their feelings. These calming resources will help our students learn how to self-regulate and provide a safe space for students to express their emotions.

Our students come to school with a variety of feelings that impact their learning.

By creating a safe space with an aquarium and weighted lap pads, students can have a place to go and take a break when needed in order to support their learning.

Our school goal is to normalize the range of emotions one can feel and teach students how to manage those big feelings. We want to provide them a place to feel safe when they need breaks and focus on working on their own set of coping skills. Help our students succeed by supporting their ZEN ZONE!
