My Project

Patricia Polacco is such a creative writer that children can relate to! She is so inspiring! Each year we do a Patricia Polacco author study in my classroom. We study her books, make connections, and enjoy her creativity!!

After reading and studying the way she writes the students work hard to become little Patricia Polacco's!

They begin making their writing come to life! Through the inspiration of her books and her style the students are able to take a moment that happened in their life and describe it with great detail!! These second graders create their best writing pieces of the year during this study!!! They are always so proud of their accomplishment!!!

I return to the library each year to borrow as many Patricia Polacco books that I can get my hands on. I am hoping to build my own library filled with her inspiring work!!! These would be there for the students to enjoy right in my classroom for years to come! Tiny writers would continue to grow with the help of these additions to my classroom!!!
