This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a preschool class with a mixture of 3 and 4-year-old students. Just last week our room was furnished with the most beautiful storage shelves, tables, and dramatic play areas. However, our shelves are very empty and are looking very sad.

I am looking to fill our new storage bins with manipulatives that will enhance their learning and help them refine their fine motor skills.

The manipulatives I've chosen, such as the upper and lower case monkeys, will help them with letter recognition, create 3 letter words, as well as build patterns. The pencil grips will be very helpful for their tiny hands as they learn to write their name each morning. I plan to use the animal feeding tubs as one of our centers to help them strengthen their tiny fingers with the tweezers as they feed their bunny and dog.

These few manipulatives would be very beneficial for them and are very much needed for our class.
